Myths and Reality

An active partner in the development of the francophone community of British Columbia since 1995, the CSF (Le Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique) includes 37 public schools with nearly 4,800 students enrolled in kindergarten to grade 12. Its schools serve more than one hundred communities throughout British Columbia.

The Conseil scolaire francophone is nationally recognised for its dynamism and innovative spirit. With more than 900 employees, including teachers, support staff, various specialists and administrative personnel, the CSF is one of the largest francophone employers in Western Canada. The deployment of communication and information technologies in all its classrooms and Virtual School makes it a national leader in the field of computer-assisted and personalised instruction.

In spite of its many accomplishments and the significant impact of the Conseil scolaire francophone on the cultural environment, there are many inaccurate myths and beliefs around its very existence and its schools in British Columbia.
