Confirmed Case of COVID-19 Action Plan
The Action Plan is a tool to guide schools and the community in the event that a case of COVID‑19 is confirmed at a school in the Conseil scolaire francophone (CSF).
**Public Health is the only institution that can contact school principals to confirm a case of COVID-19.**
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Action Plan IN THE EVENT OF A CONFIRMED CASE
In order to ensure that privacy rights are protected, no notification of potential or confirmed cases of COVID-19 will be given to staff, families, students or the public unless Public Health requests that this be done.
Public Health will not disclose that a student or staff member has a confirmed case of COVID-19 unless there are reasons to believe that they may have been contagious while at the school.
Media requests regarding confirmed or suspected cases of COVID-19 should be addressed to the regional public health authority.
Parents will be informed by Public Health if their child or children have been in close contact with the person who has tested positive for COVID-19 while they were contagious.
If this has happened, their child or children will be required to self-isolate for 14 days from the last exposure to the person who has tested positive. PUBLIC HEALTH WILL GIVE YOU THE PROTOCOL TO FOLLOW.
The child will continue with school through distance learning.
