It allows students to assert themselves as Francophones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This represents an enormous challenge in a minority context, particularly since our clientele comes from highly diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tool \u201cLe nouveau guide de francisation en Colombie-Britannique\u201d (The New Guide to Francization in British Columbia) was developed in order to respond to the needs of our clientele.<\/p>\n\n\n\n        <\/div>\n        <figure class=\"image\" data-sal=\"slide-up\" data-sal-duration=\"500\">\n                            <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.csf.bc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/services-specialises-01-e1661887152664.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n                        \n                    \n                            <span class=\"line line-a rellax-1 --reverse\" ><\/span>\n                <span class=\"line line-b rellax-horizontal\"><\/span>\n                    <\/figure>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n<section id=\"text-image-block_629f8f12f7cab\" class=\"block block-text-image --regular --pale\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n        <div class=\"flow\">\n\n            \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong>Speech and language therapy<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A speech and language therapist is a professional who assesses students\u2019 speech, language and voice function and disorders. In the context of minority language schools, it is important to distinguish between language and a language.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A language<\/strong>:&nbsp;A system of vocal signs used as instruments of communication among the members of a particular community. A language has a specific vocabulary and grammar. Examples: French, English, Spanish, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Language<\/strong>:&nbsp;The human ability to communicate and express thoughts through a language. Language problems have repercussions on learning and the use any particular language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Language difficulties are treated through speech and language therapy. The CSF provides a personalized service to students who require it in order to improve their ability to express themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, problems with proficiency in French as a second language that are unrelated to language problems (i.e. the student is proficient in their first language) are treated through&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.csf.bc.ca\/programs\/special-services\/francization\/\">francization<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n        <\/div>\n        <figure class=\"image\" data-sal=\"slide-up\"
