Freedom of information

The Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique manages school and administrative records in a manner that ensures appropriate access to information and the protection of privacy.

If you are seeking information that would not be available on our website or from any other CSF information source, you may request access to that information.

Submitting your request

All official requests for records must be made through the access to information request form and should provide sufficient details to help staff locate/retrieve the documents being sought.

  1. Download the form (French only)
  2. Fill out the form as accurately as possible
  3. Send your access to information request form by email to AI-FOI_demande@csf.bc.ca

When you submit your request, please:

  • Try to provide the exact name(s) of the record(s) you are seeking.
  • Use exact dates and/or locations, where applicable.
  • Do not submit a request that duplicates an earlier request which may already have been fulfilled, and a response already sent to you.
  • Bear in mind that large, complex requests, or requests for “all records” in a particular file take longer to process, with an increased likelihood of longer delivery times.

Fees for services relating to FIPPA requests:

Section 75 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) authorizes the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique to assess and charge fees for certain services associated with responding to access to information requests. Fees will be charged at the rates shown in the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Regulation fee schedule for the following:

  • Locating, retrieving and producing the record
  • Preparing a record for disclosure
  • Shipping and processing the file
  • Creating a copy of the file

Release of information

To support the CSF’s environmental efforts, we will respond to all access to information requests electronically where possible.

Access to information requests are normally processed within 30 business days, as required under FIPPA, but times may be longer under certain circumstances, where permitted by the Act.
